Fyr. is a sextet of five winds and vocals performing music for traveling; In life in general and in your mind.
Like a varm and alive organ solid on a west coast cliff they perform their salty nature calling music towards the silent and roaring open sea. The music roots in jazz, nordic folk music and thoughtful lyrics in Swedish.
The group was founded 2012 by vocalist and composer Matilda Andersson by the love for the wind instruments all element which together with vocals create special and colorful “klanglandskap”( in Swedish) - Soundscapes.
Some compositions are orchestral jazz. Some of them reminds of Swedish corals and hymns. Intimate texts. The songs give breath to memories of vulnerable moments, fragile times, life changing paths, wind in the eyes, and breathtaking nature.
